On the first few days of using my tablet, i open up website for local news everyday. From The Star, to Berita Harian to Harian Metro. I love reading news and that would be one of the main reason i bought tablet in the first place.
Until i met Brother Imran Maxx, a good friend of mine who coincidently also bough a new SGT for himself recently. He show me some app that really magnetize me... I saw tittle to all Malaysian major newspaper. So i asked him, where the hell you get those...I didn't see that on "market" before. He said, "Be creative" and i was like "what ?"
Yeah...be creative he said....go to market and be creative on your keyword. Dont just simply search app...For this one he search for Malaysia and all this news app pop up....and that exactly how i do it...
So here i am having app from all major newspaper in Malaysia.The app was created by locals Marvin Lee. You can check his website at http://android.marvinlee.net/apps/
All major newspaper as listed below has individual app and no one sharing app.
- The Star
- News Strait Time
- Harian Metro
- Berita Harian
- and a few other non english/malay news which i did not download
The app will download news of the day every time you open it. I am not sure whether it is full write up , but the writing indeed seem very long. (I am not sure because i didn't compare with printed version. Since i get into my iPhone few years back...i hardly purcase any newspaper as i prefer reading it online) It is long enough and satisfy my need. And it feel like it covered if not full but almost the entire content of the printed version
A bit of lagging in downloading the news. Not very fluid but not that bad. Negligible when you weigh in the beauty of getting news direct to your mobile everyday. So Sunday morning routine has become easier for me...Morning , coffee and reading news without a need to set a foot even on my lawn....Wicked...
Very unfortunate for now,there are no app for another two major newspaper ( Kosmo and Utusan Malaysia). Hope Marvin will come up with it soon
