Go to setting, and Account & sync option. Here you can decide what to sync and what not. For me there is no need for me to sync my fb and tweet contact with my phone. So I decided to turn it off .And for Google I only allow sync of email. Not calendar and contact. Depending on your need turning off some or all sync data with ease your juice flowing.
