Sometime you will come across to a point of no return. God know what you have installed and uninstalled in your SGT. Things got really messy and you got really annoyed. So you have 3 options
Smack your SGT really hard. Channel your anger, and shattered the SGT to pieces.Fuhhhh…that is fun
Or
Go to the nearest shop, buy a new gadget to replace your now default SGT (you can also do this as continuation of previous option
Or
Hard Resetting your SGT, and bring back the device to the glorious first day out of factory form. Now that seem like a better option but be aware. Unless you have already back up your data , you will lose all your data stored in SGT. Including all those apps. I don’t know yet whether if you could retrieve paid app for free ? So think twice before you hard reset. So before you even start contemplating to do hard reset please consider
- Have you back up your data. Please do so
- What is your problem with the SGT. Following would be some guideline
- Slow & Sluggish performance – Try uninstalling some app especially those related to system, taxing a lot of memory and those connecting to the net all the time. In fact remove everything and install back one by one so u know what is good and what is bad. Remember some apps are poorly coded and constructed. Especially third party apps.
- Some Apps couldn’t work – I suggest instead of hard reset which will bring you back to original form of the tablet (but may end up with older version of android) which may have some bug, tried updating your Android. Unless I am wrong , the latest firmware for Android (today 9th June 2011)is the ANDROID.XWJMK. So give it a try, it may solve all your problem
- Blank Screen, Freeze, Hang – I advice the above two to solve this kind of problem before we go on hard reset
So, unless all else failed, this is how you do your hard reset.
- Always remember first to back up your data
- Turn off your SGT
- Once off give a few second rest
- Press and Hold Volume Up and Power button (in right side of your SGT) (make sure volume up, not down)
- Release Power button when you see Samsung logo but hold the Volume Up.Dont let it go. This is important. Wait until recovery screen appears
- Use volume button to select your option. Select wipe data/factory reset. Press Home to confirm your selection
- Press and hold Volume up
- Hard reset will proceed
- Open setting
- Select Privacy
- Choose Factory Data Reset
I tried that once and can confirm you all data is cleanly wiped out. Done
